Menstruation: In girls and young women, cramps, headache and backache are a nagging problem for the first few days of the menstrual cycle, but can be easily relieved by the following remedies.

What to take: Magnesia phosphorica tablets dissolved in warm water and sipped can relieve pain and cramping. Several other homeopathic remedies that can relieve the pain and cramping are Belladonna,Pulsatilla, Chamomilla, and Colocynthis. For added comfort, place a heating pad or hot water bottle on the abdomen.

Acne: While there are several remedies used, it is best to consult first with a licensed homeopathic physician.

What to take: Kalibromatum, Sulphur, and Antimonium tartaricum are the most commonly prescribed remedies. These are used in conjunction with a sensible diet low in fat and sugar and a regular plan of cleansing the affected area and patting on witch hazel.

Cautions and Commonsense: The pharma alternative--before taking the standard medical treatment for acne, an oral contraceptive for girls, or antibiotics, educate yourself on the side effects and long-term consequences.
